Darren O'Reilly

Darren O'Reilly - Reserves player

Name: Darren O'Reilly

AKA: yet to be determined (hockey nickname needed)

Occupation: Electrical Engineer @ Caterpillar Inc.

Jersey number: 54

Number of years playing hockey: 6 or 7 years formally. I grew up in Canada playing a lot of pick up games on local rinks and plenty of street/floor hockey… so if you count that… a lot of years.

Favourite NHL/European league team: Edmonton Oilers, of course

What motivated you to take up hockey? I was living in the US for a few years and just decided to start playing in the men's league there. Hockey was expensive when growing up so I never played in a formal league. I guess it was just getting back to my Canadian roots.

Describe your fondest/best hockey moment? Winning the Peoria adult hockey league championship in 2004 after coming off a broken ankle/rehab.

Describe your most comical hockey moment? Playing the final game in an organized tournament in Chicago (we both were going for last place) with both teams completely intoxicated. You had to be there.

What catch phrase are you made famous for? So many… too little space to list here….

What will you be doing in five/ten years time? Probably working for the Man still. Who knows where I will be living next? Wherever the company or my job moves me I guess.

Additional information/comments? I'm Canadian. I might not be the fastest skater but I can shoot and pass.
